Andy Reid is a Certified sports car fanatic who travels the world to see what’s crossing the auction block and what deals are out there. He has been involved in the collector car lifestyle since before he could drive when, at 15, he bought his first collector vehicle, a 1968 Fiat 124 coupe. His second was a 1966 330 GT 2+2 that he purchased by stealing his college savings. Andy has owned more than 200 cars, “none of them normal or reasonable.” One of his all time favorite cars is the Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona, a car liked so much he has owned a Daytona twice. Andy is not just an Italian car fan, but has a serious love affair with German cars, having owned 24 Porsche 911’s, on which he is an expert as well as a number of BMW’s.
He currently owns five collector cars, everything from a 1484 MG TC, a car he will be driving cross country to Monterey this year, a 1996 BMW Z3 007 Goldeneye limited edition, the only limited edition James Bond car offered to the public, a 1961 Alfa Romeo, and a 1961 Maserati 3500GT.
Andy has written for Grassroots Motorsports, Racer, Vintage Motorsport magazine, the RM magazine, Jaguar World, the Hagerty insurance website, was the auction columnist at Classic Motorsports magazine for 12 years. He is currently is the East Coast Editor and Auction Analyst at ClassicCars.com. He is also involved in a new website that covers the auction market called Blockchaser.com. Andy is also a licensed independent collector car insurance specialist at Haydenwood Insurance, working primarily with Hagerty and AIG. He has worked in film and television, advertising and helped launch a number of internet companies.
Andy is also a well-respected Concours judge and has served as a judge at The Hilton Head Concours, The Radnor Hunt Concours, Concorso Italiano, The Autobahn Concours, The Milwaukee Masterpiece, Edison Concours, and the Pinehurst concours.
In addition to cars, Andy is a serious collector of classic motorcycles. Andy Lives in Canton, CT with his wife Ann.
